We’re just days away from the official start of summer, but our lemonade mini-session in Wausau gave us all the summer fun feels! It was a perfect June day full of sunshine and smiles. Even though it was a toasty 90 degrees, no one seemed to mind too much. After all, who doesn’t enjoy a fresh glass of lemonade on a hot summer day?

Sipping Lemonade in Sunnyvale Park
When you work with Brittney as your Wausau, WI family photographer, you can rest assured that she knows some of the best locations to take photos. She loves scoping out local places that provide the perfect backdrop for each mini-session. For this lemonade mini session, she couldn’t think of a better spot than Sunnyvale Park.
The 300-acre park is an ideal location for photos because of its size. Not only are there plenty of different areas to choose from, but it’s also easy to avoid people in the background. On this particular day, we were lucky that it wasn’t busy.
Of course, it wasn’t completely empty! There were a few people who were biking and walking by as we were waiting in between families. We had fun interacting with them and offering them lemonade minis as well!
Lemonade Minis Make Sour Faces and Sweet Memories
We had children from nine months old to seven years old at this lemonade mini session in Wausau. With such a range, we always get a variety of reactions, and this summer mini session was no exception! While we got plenty of smiles, we also had some of the cutest sour faces.
For many of the littlest ones, this was their first time trying a lemon slice, and as you can imagine, their reactions were quite animated. We had some sibling giggles and cheers, and we had some who preferred to throw the lemons, which made us all laugh. However, one of the best reactions came from a baby sharing her lemon slice with her sister. She made it very obvious that she wasn’t a big fan!
The summer mini-session was full of more than just cute faces! The kids were dressed the part too. There were so many pretty dresses and adorable bibs. Some of the children even came dressed to match the lemon theme shoot.
Mini Sessions for a Busy Summer Schedule
Summer is one of the busiest times of the year. It can be hard to squeeze in time for photos, but a summer mini-session is the perfect way to capture some of those memories. Plenty of the kiddos at our lemonade minis had come from other events and activities, and we loved every second of hearing how excited they were about their summers.
